With the internet making it easy for people to run their own businesses or even earn some income from a hobby, we as consumers can take advantage of lower prices to save money. Here are a 3 ways to spend less money.
Ways To Spend Less Money
This is a website that people post services on for you to purchase. As the name implies, the service costs you $5. You can get almost anything on this site. If you are a blogger, you can get logos, headers, and videos made for your site for $5. If you are willing to pay $5 more, you can get your project expedited so you can get it faster.
You can have people sing you Happy Birthday or a custom greeting card for $5. The possibilities are near endless on this site. Going to a graphic designer to create a logo for you could cost over $100. With Fiverr you pay $5. Understand that you have to read the reviews of people to make sure they do quality work. I’ve used a designer in the past and she designed things for me and made a handful of revisions until it was exactly what I wanted.
There are many states that allow you to shop around for your electricity distributor. In many cases, they are cheaper than the company you currently get electric from now. All you have to do is find a company, give them your information and your electric providers, and they take care of the rest. You can either sign up for a fixes rate plan of 6 or 12 months or a variable monthly rate. I usually go for the fixed 12 month rate because I believe that electricity prices will continue to increase and I want to lock in my rate. I go with a 12 month contract because I don’t want to research prices every 6 months.
Be aware that many of the companies charge you a fee if you cancel the contract early. Typically it is $10 per outstanding month. If you cancel with 3 months left, you owe them $30. Also do a little background check on the company. There are some out there will really bad reviews. I’ve found that all of them have a handful of bad reviews, which is to be expected. Don’t just disqualify a company for a bad review or you will end up with no one to choose from.
Etsy is an online marketplace for crafters. You can find some really neat and unique gifts from people on this site. I will note that there are some items for sale that are more expensive than what you would pay for in larger stores. If you are OK with this and supporting small businesses, then by all means make the purchase. I just wanted to make note of this since the topic of this post is saving money and spending more for an item isn’t really saving you money.
With the exception of those higher prices, there are many bargains on the site. My girlfriend buys a good amount of jewelry from one seller in particular and loves her work.
There are plenty of ways to save money on bills and gifts and on everything else. Hopefully the three ideas presented here were different and you can use them to save yourself some money.
